Job Description

What You Will Do

  • look after Khushhali Microfinance Bank Limited legal cases, filed or pending before various Courts of Law/Tribunals etc. across the Country.
  • Liaise with Line Manager in assigning the cases to Bank’s Panel Advocates.
  • Manage sharing of complete information, documents etc. through concerned stakeholders with the Bank’s Panel Advocate required for filing and or contesting Bank’s cases in order to achieve desirable results. 

Litigation Tasks

Monitoring of Cases/Complaints/Petitions/Appeals etc. filed by and against the Bank

  • Study cases; keep abreast with the happening/outcome of dates of hearing and suggest further course of action/devise strategy. Actively involved in disposal of the cases with the dealing lawyer. Manage litigation portfolio, attend dispute resolution matters, collections claims, commercial transactions, contract disputes, property damage, lease matters etc. Provide assistance and advice in all court cases, complaints, legal notices and other litigation, civil as well as criminal, by or against the bank and suggest further course.
  • Monitor court cases and assist in FIA matters, NAB issues and all other issues of legal significance pertaining to any branch across Pakistan. Attend matters in court as to safeguard interest of the bank on instructions of Line Manger. Share information and relevant documents together with facts of the case with the Bank’s Advocates through concerned stakeholders, for filing or contesting the cases on proper track.
  • Monitor & follow up the cases & consult with Bank’s Lawyers with regard to cases filed by or against the Bank in order to avoid legal complications. Provide full assistance to the Line Manager with regard to follow up of cases of the Bank.

Processing of Approvals & Maintaining of MIS

  • Processing and screening of approvals for payment of legal expenses, including professional fees, court fees, auction expenses etc. Negotiation of fee and other expenses with dealing lawyers.
  • Maintain MIS record of cases filed against the Bank/filed by the Bank with updated proceedings.
  • Ensure that high level secrecy and privacy for all legal data is maintained for the organization.

Legal Tasks 

  • Support & assist Line Manager in the assessment of legal documents of the Bank to ensure legal protection.
  • Study judgments/precedents and share synopsis with Line Manager.
  • Keeping abreast of any new enactments and any amendments in laws, regulations etc. applicable to the Bank and assist Line Manager in this regard.
  • Ensure that high level secrecy and privacy for all legal data is maintained for the organization. 
  • Undertakes regular follow up / action with the Court / Government Regulation Authorities / Central Banks on various legal issues.
  • Exhibits and upholds KMBL’s values and social performance objectives. 

What You Need

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Law and enrolled as an Advocate. 
  • 1 to 2 Years’ relevant experience.
  • Thorough knowledge of Civil, Criminal, Labor, Evidence and Banking Laws and Practices.
  • Knowledge of the Regulatory Environment.
  • Understanding of commercial lending practices is desirable.
  • Negotiator, self-starter, assertive, team player, highly punctual and able to resolve conflicts without compromising on job objectives.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and able to work with tight deadlines.
  • Strong oral presentation and communication skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite.
  • Willing to travel across KMBL network
