Job Description

Open Source Databases (SQL & NOSQL)

  • End To End Management of Open Source Databases including the design, implementation and support.
  • Setup High Availability of database through clustering for load balancing.
  • Setup Disaster Recovery & perform switchover whenever required
  • Managing/Running Databases for Docker Containers.
  • Implement/Manage the Database Caching
  • Offloading site setup and Management
  • Installation, configuration, upgrading, administrating, monitoring, troubleshooting, cloning, patching, backup and restore of Open Source databases
  • Manage users and security
  • Make database backups and performing recovery when necessary
  • Explore & Implement the Open Source Tools for databases (Monitoring).
  • Proactively monitor the databases health and taking preventive or corrective action (approved only) as required.
  • Monitor and tune performance issues.
  • Create and maintain database operations handbook for frequently/routinely performed tasks
  • Monitor application related jobs and data replication activities
  • Develop environment provision (Backup restoration & Point in time recovery)
  • Write database procedures, functions and triggers and well-tuned queries
  • Monitor Database tools usage to review and ensure the 
  • system is operation at optimal levels
  • Database Growth Monitoring to proactive manage underlying storage and recommend solutions as required

Data Management

  • Install & Monitor Cognos
  • Monitor the ETL/ELT (OpenSource Talend Open Studio)
  • Install, configure and maintain the vertica (Clustered)

Database Support & Troubleshooting 

  • Provide second level support for day-to-day operations to internal departments for Production, High Availability, Disaster Recovery and Development sites
  • Proactive monitor & takes action for all databases alerts 

Database Implementation

  • Install & Configure Open source databases.
  • Facilitate issue related to database administration. 
  • Inter and intra Team Coordination skills.
