Job Description

General:

Develop the database strategy, roadmap and planning.
Training & Management of Team.
Monitor Database Efficiency.
Set & monitor the KPIs of Team.
Develop and Implement Database Policy & Procedure (SOP).
Ensure compliance by enforcing standards & control
Ensure the business continuity.
Implement Security Measures, Maintain RDBMS & Documentation Pertaining to Database.
Invoke Disaster Recovery.
Ensure the Upgrade, Migration, and Conversion of Databases.
Ensure the Encryption & Compression the Data
Successful Delivery of the Projects.
R & D With respect to database technologies.
Selection of hardware and software.
Keep up with current technological trends.
Predict future changes.
Emphasis on established off the shelf products.
Managing data security and privacy.
Protection of data against accidental or intentional loss, destruction, or misuse.
Database Firewalls.
Establishment of user privileges.

Design, maintain and monitor performance of databases

Design the Data Integration & Interfaces.
Design, Maintain, Automate & Monitor Database Tasks.
Install Configure & Manage Oracle Engineered Systems.
Create and maintain database designs in popular RDBMS such as Oracle, HANA and MS SQL Server.
Maintaining records on repair and installation
Troubleshooting unseen system problems
Installing new software and updates
Maintain day-to-day operations of the production and test databases including writing complex queries to support daily operations.
Analyze, sustain capacity and performance tune databases for optimal efficiency of database and application systems.
Planning- development of organization\s IT strategy, enterprise model, cost/benefit model, design of database environment, and administration plan.
Data analysis- Define and model data requirements, business rules, operational requirements, and maintain corporate data dictionary
Internal marketing of DA concepts
Managing the data repository

Troubleshoot database problems

Troubleshoot Database Problems & Performance Tuning.
Implement, configure and troubleshoot database instances, clustering, mirroring, replication, backup, partitions, storage and access.
Troubleshoot problems with database and application servers to resolve routine issues in a timely manner.

Implement security measures, maintain RDBMS and documentation pertaining to database

Plan, coordinate and implement security measures and maintain data standards to safeguard information against accidental or unauthorized damage, modification or disclosure.
Provide database support to internal development team.
Configure and maintain RDBMS on Unix, Linux and Windows platforms.
Write and maintain database documentation, including data standards, procedures and definitions for the data dictionary.
