Senior System Administrator

Storage Administration

• Analyze, design, implement, and support enterprise-level storage and backup infrastructure, architecture that ensures high levels of data quality and availability.
• Configure, manage and maintain storage hardware and software, including SANs, NAS devices, and DAS systems.
• Perform regular updates, patches, and firmware upgrades of Storage.
• Monitor storage system performance, resource utilization, and availability.
• Identify and resolve storage-related performance issues
• Implement storage performance tuning and optimization
• Assess storage capacity requirements and plan for future growth
• Allocate and manage storage resources efficiently
• Set up monitoring tools to track storage system health and performance
• Generate and analyze storage-related reports and alerts

Data Backup and Recovery

• Develop and maintain backup and recovery strategies to protect critical data
• Conduct data backups, verify data integrity, and execute recovery procedures
• Configure and schedule regular backups of critical data and systems
• Perform data restores as needed, including file-level and system-level restores
• Define data retention policies and archive strategies to optimize storage resources
• Manage long-term data archives and ensure compliance with data retention regulations

Virtualization

• Hands-on experience with VMware, Oracle OVS, vCenter & and other virtualization technologies.

Shared Responsibilities with Sr. System Administrator:

• Conduct a thorough review of KMBL Infrastructure & software licensing need and recommend the best possible solution.
• Assist System Manager with budgeting exercise.
• Infrastructure monitoring & HDMS tier-II ticket resolution.
• Assist and share the workload with Sr. Systems Administrator 

Audit, Compliance, and Security Assurance

• Monitor and assess the efficiency and usage of storage and backup environment and develop action plans for improvement.
• Implement and ensure full compliance with the policy and procedures of the Data Center.
• Report to Data Center Manager, the status of all events as per the escalation procedures.
• Enforce data access policies and compliance with data security regulations
• Assess Backups and storage capacity requirements and plan for future growth
• 24x7x365 systems availability and support
